I honestly didn't miss June, I was just too overwhelmed by all that was going on to blog. Much of May was the same. I haven't even posted pictures of trips home yet!
Where to start?
As you know, I attended FanX Comic Convention in April with my sister and brother-in-law, and met my BIG FAV, Alice Cooper. Checked that off my bucket list in a really positive way, since we were able to have a really nice conversation with him during a quiet period. So cool, I'm still walking around thinking, "I met Alice Cooper! EEEK!"
April ended on a pretty good note, and then things got really busy!
May!
I made trip number one to Denver in early May. Dentist appointment that made me ache for days afterward--I do not appreciate temporary crowns. Ugh.
It was my birthday week, though, and on Saturday my twin-from-another-mother-and-father picked me up for a cool day out.
For those unfamiliar with this guy, we discovered within days of him joining the crew where I worked as an Optician for several years that we share a birthday, born within mere hours apart on the same day and year. We have made a point of celebrating our birthday together ever since, and have rarely missed any.
When we realized we'd have to sit at opposite ends of the theater to see a movie, we changed our plan and went to the Butterfly Pavilion.
I had never been before, and it's pretty fantastic. Naturally, I declined to hold and pet the tarantula! (like that surprises anyone)
The butterflies are quite beautiful, the gift shop is cool, the people are great. If you haven't visited, I highly recommend putting it on your to-do list.
We did some good eating at Olive Garden afterward and talked ourselves silly, since we don't get to see each other often anymore. It was a great day!
My remaining time was spent with family. My grandchildren are growing up too fast, and I hate missing so much of that now that I spend most of my time in Wyoming.
The newest baby in the family is Jeeves, who came to live with my son and daughter-in-law. He's quite a cutie. I hope he and Molly get to meet soon. Jeeves is so calm, Molly will probably wear him out!
Flying from Wyoming to Denver is weird. The airport is so tiny. You can walk around the whole place in less than five minutes. Then you fly into Denver, and the place is miles of shops and people and gates--overwhelming!
I do enjoy being in the air, and I love the clouds!
Everything looks less chaotic from the sky.
The kids have been doing some remodeling in the Colorado place, and I have a new room. They have taken my love of lighthouses and incorporated that into my decor!
Oddly enough, the look is surprisingly similar to what I have done in my Wyoming room! I had no idea that they had gotten me this comforter set when I ordered the spread and shams for my home-away-from home room.
Of course, Molly thinks this is her room.
She's not wrong...
Back to Wyoming I went--first the amazingly huge Denver International Airport, and then the amazingly tiny Rock Springs airport. The contrast never fails to leave me a bit disoriented.
A couple of days later, Mom took a fall and bumped her head a good one on the concrete. Being the world's almost-biggest worry-wart, I insisted on a trip to the Emergency Room, just to be safe.
She's fine. Complained mostly about pain in her tailbone, so I guess she must have sat first, then kept going.
Balance is a precarious thing as we get older. She's taken a few tumbles in the last year. It's scary!
More May antics to come!
Ta ta!
